Petr Pavek is Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and Head of Group of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacotherapy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.
His research areas are molecular pharmacology, nanoformulations for targeted delivery, hepatic nuclear receptors and their involvement in gene regulation of drug metabolizing enzymes and in pathology of liver diseases; hepatic metabolism of xenobiotics and endobiotics; drug development and ADME; pharmacogenetics in rheumatology. This effort of Petr’s group resulted in the discovery of new constitutive androstane receptor agonists that have great potential to become therapeutics for high cholesterol.
